Velaavaru Island Resort****

It takes 40 minutes by Seaplane to reach Velavaru Island Resort. Natives called it "Turtle Island". Thus, "velaa" in our language "Dhivehi" means "turtle". The lush vegetation, tall palm trees, white sandy beach, and beautiful lagoon of Velaavaru make it irresistible for anyone wanted to enjoy unspoiled natural scenery.

On turtle island the bungalows are cleverly designed in a turtle shape: that is two-inter connecting rooms in each unit. Rooms also have bathroom with hot and cold running water, telephone and mini bar, air-conditioning and ceiling fan. Individual beach front bungalows with added luxury are also available.

Velaavaru has 6 Water Bungalows and 2 Water Suites. Further a restaurant that serves international cuisine and a well stocked bar.

Coral reef around the island is excellent for snorkeling. Other water sports include diving, windsurfing, sailing and fishing. Table tennis, volley-ball and a number of other indoor games are available. Picnics/excursions to nearby uninhabited atolls are also included in the list of activities.
