Sun Island Resort*****

Recently this resort was opened with a grand ceremony and this is the biggest and the most comprehensive resort in Maldives. Having a room capacity of 350, the guests will be provided with every possible service and facilities that the guests could possibly hope for. Thus, no other Maldivian resorts may have such a choice of entertainments.

"Sun Island" is located 62 miles from Male' International Airport, on the uninhabited island, locally known as Nalaguraidhoo, in South Ari Atoll. Measuring about 1.6 km in length and around  380 meters average width, this island offers everything.

The quality of constructions is first class, with exceptional attention to details. Most of the beaches are man-made, but still it's hard to notice it. We may say that the overall appearance is a bit similar to "Paradise Island" and "Fun Island", which is smart, shiny, large and modern. Sun Island may not be a barefoot place, but for facilities, services and activities it is unmatched.

The Presidential suites, and Deluxe Water bungalows are situated over water, and have their own stairs to the lagoon. Super Deluxe Beach Bungalows and Deluxe Beach Bungalows are all situated on the beach with a direct view of the sea. All rooms come with air-conditioning, minibar, safes, IDD telephone, channeled music, and color TV with in-house video and satellite channels. All bathrooms have bathtubs, and bidets (except in Deluxe rooms), outdoor shower, hairdryer, hot and cold water and telephones.

Treat yourself to one of the several restaurant, bars, or grill, serving international cuisine, alcoholic drinks and cocktails, 24 - hour service is available at the coffee shop and main bar. An open sided restaurant serves sumptuous buffets for Full board and Half board guests.

A large swimming pool is set amidst exotic landscaping and for those who love the beach and the sea, a variety of water sports is available - from snorkeling to catamaran and diving. As sports and entertainment, Sun Island offers a variety of facilities including floodlit-tennis courts, indoor badminton and squash, volleyball, snooker, gymnasium, sauna, jacuzzi and massage facilities, even an electronic games center and karaoke rooms.
